Bride 13 — Episode Nine: Hurled from the Clouds

Chapter nine of fifteen, and the audience has to come back next week to find out.

What

A 1920 chromolithograph one-sheet for the ninth episode of the Fox serial Bride 13, directed by Richard Stanton and produced by William Fox.

Why

Serials were the engine of the weekly habit — a cliffhanger every Saturday, a new poster every Saturday with it. Individual episode sheets were printed in small runs and thrown away on schedule, which makes any survivor scarce. The serial itself is lost.

Notice

The episode title is given nearly the weight of the serial title: the poster has to sell this week, not the whole run.

“Suspense, printed to a weekly deadline.”

Format

The full-resolution, color-managed file — restored honestly, yours to print and keep.
