Nana
Zola's courtesan, filmed in France and sold in Moscow across two full sheets.
What
A colour lithograph printed on two sheets, 144 by 107 cm assembled, published by Sovkino in Moscow in 1928 in an edition of 10,000 and printed at the Sovkino lithography.
Why
Jean Renoir's Nana was an expensive French production that failed at home; its Soviet distribution shows how freely films crossed between systems in the late 1920s. The two-sheet format marks it as a prestige release.
Notice
The join. A two-sheet poster was pasted up in halves, and the design has to survive being assembled slightly wrong on a wall.
“A French scandal, printed large enough to be a Moscow event.”
Format
The full-resolution, color-managed file — restored honestly, yours to print and keep.
