Zhena (The Wife)

A domestic drama given the hard geometry of an industrial notice.

What

A chromolithographed sheet in landscape format published by Sovkino in Moscow in 1927.

Why

Voronov and Evstafiev worked as a partnership across the late 1920s and are among the most prolific names in Soviet film graphics. Their joint sheets show how thoroughly the constructivist vocabulary had become an everyday commercial tool rather than an experiment.

Notice

The diagonal organisation of the field, which was the montage school's standard move for turning a static sheet into something that reads as motion.

“A marriage advertised with the angles of a machine.”

Format

The full-resolution, color-managed file — restored honestly, yours to print and keep.

Sized to protect print quality — this scan supports sizes up to 18x24" cleanly.

Size

$29.00
