Doch Rafke (Fräulein Raffke)
A German comedy of new money, repackaged for Soviet screens by a designer with three years left to live.
What
A chromolithograph issued in Leningrad by Mezhrabpom-Rus in 1927 for the Soviet release of a German film.
Why
Imported pictures were a substantial part of Soviet exhibition through the 1920s, and studios routinely commissioned entirely new domestic posters rather than reprinting foreign ones. The result is a genuinely Soviet graphic object attached to a foreign film.
Notice
The tall, narrow proportion of the sheet, which forces the composition into a vertical stack rather than a centred scene.
“A foreign story, redrawn in the local accent.”
Format
The full-resolution, color-managed file — restored honestly, yours to print and keep.
Sized to protect print quality — this scan supports sizes up to 18x24" cleanly.
