Svanen

Sweden saw the film first through Rohman.

What

Eric Rohman's 1925 Swedish sheet for The Swan, released as Svanen.

Why

Rohman was Sweden's leading film poster artist from the 1910s into the 1940s, and drew the Swedish sheets for American, German, French and British films alike.

Notice

The Swedish distributor's sheet carries Rohman's own drawing in place of the art used abroad.

“Imported film, local hand.”
